ACL reconstruction, rotator cuff repair, and TKR each require specific, time-gated rehab protocols. Clinit lets physiotherapists build and assign protocol templates that progress automatically with the patient.
The Problem with Generic Rehab Plans
A post-ACL reconstruction patient at week 2 and week 12 have completely different physical capacities and appropriate exercise intensities. A generic plan that doesn't gate progression by time and milestones puts patients at risk — either of re-injury through premature loading, or of delayed recovery through excessive caution.
Protocol Templates in Clinit Physiotherapy
Clinit allows physiotherapists to build reusable protocol templates — structured as phases, each with:
- Phase name (e.g., Phase 1: Acute, Phase 2: Early Rehab, Phase 3: Strength, Phase 4: Return to Sport)
- Duration (weeks in phase)
- Goals for the phase (ROM targets, strength benchmarks, functional criteria to advance)
- Exercises assigned in this phase — each with sets, reps, hold time, frequency, and video link
- Precautions (e.g., "No terminal knee extension past 30° in Phase 1")
- Milestone criteria to advance to the next phase (e.g., "Quad strength ≥70% symmetry before entering Phase 3")
Built-in Protocol Library
Clinit ships with a starter library of evidence-based protocols:
- ACL Reconstruction Rehab (9-month, 4-phase)
- Rotator Cuff Repair Rehab (6-month, 4-phase)
- Total Knee Replacement Rehab (12-week, 3-phase)
- Lumbar Discectomy Rehab (8-week, 3-phase)
- Achilles Tendon Repair Rehab (6-month, 4-phase)
Each protocol is editable — physiotherapists can modify phases, swap exercises, and adjust criteria to match their clinical approach.
Assigning a Protocol
Open session → Treatment Plan → Assign Protocol. Select the template, enter the surgery date (which auto-sets the current phase based on weeks post-op), and confirm. The correct exercise set for the current phase is automatically loaded into the HEP. As the patient progresses through phases, the HEP updates automatically.
Referring Surgeon Communication
When a phase advance occurs or a milestone is missed, Clinit can generate a structured update letter to the referring surgeon — with current ROM, strength data, outcome scores, and the physiotherapist's clinical note — formatted as a PDF.
