From first records to debond, orthodontic case management has unique demands. Here's how Clinit handles ortho phases, bracket inventories, and treatment photos in one workflow.
The Orthodontic Workflow Challenge
Orthodontic treatment spans 18–36 months, involves multiple clinical milestones, and requires careful documentation of each adjustment visit. Traditional clinic software treats every appointment as a standalone event — a poor fit for long-arc orthodontic care.
Phases and Milestones
Clinit models each ortho case as a sequence of phases:
- Records: Study models, OPG, ceph, photographs
- Treatment Planning: Bracket prescription, extraction decisions, predicted outcome
- Active Treatment: Adjustment visits, arch wire progression, compliance notes
- Retention: Retainer type, fit date, review schedule
- Debond: Outcome photos, final records, retention handover
Each phase has a checklist; incomplete items appear as a banner on the session screen so nothing is forgotten.
Bracket Inventory
The integrated inventory module tracks bracket kits by brand, prescription (MBT, Roth, Damon), and lot number. When a kit is opened for a case, it is allocated to that patient's record. Re-order alerts fire when stock drops below a configurable threshold.
Treatment Photography
Before/after photo sets are stored directly against the case. The comparison viewer overlays the initial and final facial photographs at the same scale — a powerful tool for consent conversations and case presentations.
Billing Across Phases
Orthodontic cases are often paid in instalments tied to phase completion. Clinit's instalment billing links each payment to a clinical milestone, giving the front desk a single view of what is owed and when.
