ENT documentation spans hearing tests, endoscopic findings, allergy testing, and surgical procedures. Here's how Clinit's ENT module brings structure to every part of the workflow.
The Breadth of ENT Documentation
Otolaryngology is one of medicine's most procedure-dense specialties. A single clinic session might include an audiogram review, a flexible nasendoscopy, an allergy test interpretation, and a surgical consent discussion — each generating different types of structured data.
Audiogram Documentation
Clinit's ENT module includes an audiogram entry interface where pure-tone averages, speech reception thresholds, and word recognition scores are entered for both ears. The system plots the audiogram curves (air conduction, bone conduction, masked/unmasked) and computes the hearing loss classification (normal, mild, moderate, moderately severe, severe, profound) using ASHA criteria.
Rhinoscopy and Endoscopy Findings
Structured anterior rhinoscopy and flexible nasendoscopy findings are recorded using a template:
- Nasal septum: position, deviation degree
- Turbinates: size, mucosa appearance
- Nasopharynx, oropharynx, larynx: structured findings fields
- Photo/video attachment from endoscopy equipment
Allergy Testing
Skin prick test (SPT) results are recorded in a structured grid: allergen, wheal size, flare size, grade. The system computes overall sensitisation profile and flags common culprits (house dust mite, grass pollen, cat dander, Alternaria).
Surgical Records
ENT surgical records — septoplasty, tonsillectomy, tympanotomy, microlaryngoscopy — are documented with structured operative notes, instrument/implant details, and post-op care instructions sent via the patient portal.
